Delete a Digital ID

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Security tab.
  2. Click Import/Export.
  3. Click Export your Digital ID to a file.
  4. Click Select, click the Digital ID that you want to remove, and then click OK.
  5. In the Filename box, enter the path and name for the file, or click Browse.
  6. In the Password box, type the password for the file.
  7. In the Confirm box, enter the password again.
  8. Select the Delete Digital ID from system check box.
  9. Click OK. Outlook creates a file in the location you specified in step 5. The file type is one of the following: .pfx, .epf, or .p12.

  10. Delete the file Microsoft Outlook created in the previous step.

Important You will not be able to open any messages that were encrypted by using the Digital ID you removed.
